A solemnity in the Roman liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church is a liturgical celebration of great importance. It is the celebration with the highest degree of importance in the Catholic liturgical calendar, superior to a feast and a memorial.

  • Mary, Mother of God, January 1.
  • Epiphany, January 6 or Sunday between January 2 and 8.
  • Saint Joseph, husband of the Virgin Mary, March 19.
  • Annunciation of Jesus, March 25.
  • Easter, considered the solemnity of solemnities.
  • Ascension of Jesus, a Thursday forty days after Easter Sunday or the following Sunday.
  • Pentecost, seven weeks after Easter Sunday.
  • Holy Trinity, the first Sunday after Pentecost.
